Your words are so special, Raffaella, because you speak of exactly what I was trying to express in this poem. There is a lasting and beautiful relationship between us and the earth. Not just the world at large, but our own little piees of it — in our gardens and such.

I am sorry you had to leave Hippie and Funky! I love willows; they are such graceful and elegant trees. True willows don’t grow in the desert because there is not enough water, of course, but there is a little graceful tree that is called Desert Willow, which I grew there. It has flowers in summer.
